A few quick questions about "Jira Software(free trial version)"

松田汎未 October 11, 2021

A few quick questions about "Jira Software(free trial version)":
1. I can see issues of a category(LEVEL1) and subcategory(LEVEL2) on the Epic of Roadmap. Is there a way to view issues of further subcategory(LEVEL3) on the Epic of Roadmap?

2.Is there a way to put on issues which are a subcategory(LEVEL2) and further subcategory(LEVEL3) into Gantt chart of Roadmap? Although we can see issues of category(LEVEL1) into Gantt chart of Roadmap.

3. Issues are must be configured individually in our project, so is any other way to maintain issues separately on "Issue" and "WBS Gannte-Chart for Jira(free trial version)"? I mean, I want to maintain a issue "A" only on "Issue", and a issue "B" only on "WBS Gannte-Chart for Jira(free trial version)".

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello @松田汎未 ,

This is Hal from Ricksoft, the vendor of WBS Gantt-Chart.

If you can create a filter whose JQL includes only issue "B", then you will be able to create a Gantt-Chart from the filter and maintain issues separately.

Or you can also set a Quick filter to filter issues on the Gantt-Chart.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

All the best,
Hal

I appreciate your quick replay. I understood that we can use those filters.

And I have a other queston. If we register a issue "B" on "WBS Gannte-Chart for Jira(free trial version)", also it showing up on "Issue", so is there any other way to register either "WBS Gannte-Chart for Jira(free trial version)" or "Issue"?

I apologize for my poor English.

Thank you for your support.

Hello Hiromi,

And I have a other queston. If we register a issue "B" on "WBS Gannte-Chart for Jira(free trial version)", also it showing up on "Issue", so is there any other way to register either "WBS Gannte-Chart for Jira(free trial version)" or "Issue"?

Unfortunately, it is not possible because you are using the same project for WBS Gantt-Chart, so basically, these issues should appear in both Jira and WBS Gantt-Chart.

I would create a new project for Issue "B" and use WBS Gantt-Chart to manage them.

May I ask the reason why you would like to have Issue A and Issue B in the same project?

Hello @松田汎未

Welcome to the community.

1. No. With the free version of Jira you are getting the Basic Roadmaps functionality. That allows you to see only Epics (Level 1) and their children (Level 2 - i.e. Stories and Bugs). you cannot add another layer.

2. No. Again since you have only Basic Roadmaps functionality, the Gantt chart for the Roadmap will show dates only for Epics (Level 1).

3. I don't know the answer to this question.

I appreciate your quick replay. I understood that we can't use those functions with the free version of Jira. Thank you and best regards.
