A new custom field should pop up based on selecting other custom field

Raj Goshikonda November 18, 2022

Hi, If I select Company: India - MarketOne, a new single select custom field should pop up as below mentioned. New field name = "User Location" and options should appear "Bangalore" and "Hyderabad".

Hi @Raj Goshikonda , By default, the functionality is yet to be built for Jira, there is already a feature request in Atlassian's bucket [JRACLOUD-41352].

However, you can try the third-party app JMWE which has event-based automation to update custom fields.

Hi @Raj Goshikonda , welcome to the community.

For this, assuming you are using a company manage project, I would recommend that you use a cascading select custom field. Cascading select field allows you to define different values in the secondary field based upon the primary field. Basically exactly what you were asking for. To do this you will need admin permission. please let me know if you need assistance with adding custom fields.

Hi Jack,

Thank you for your reply.

If we use cascading custom field, secondary field will always shows. But I exactly want is if we select any one of drop-down only then depended field should appear with options.
