I see this status "Start Progress." It appears in the workflow dropdown of tickets, but it does not appear in my workflow (diagram view). It also appears in the column as a separate option within "In Progress" (see below). I ONLY want In progress, not this split column. Help!!

People often get confused between what is a Status and what is a Transition.
What JIRA is actually showing in both the drop-down and on your board, is the names of the available Transitions rather than the names of the Statuses in your workflow.
People often use the same names for both, but if they don't it can be confusing.
It would seem that your workflow has two transitions (In Progress & Start Progress) that point to the same Status. See my example below where my transitions are called Transition 1 & Transition 2.
Edit your workflow (as a project admin) to remove the additional transition.

Hey @Moses Thomas , "Start Progress" doen't exist in my board settings/column settings/statuses. I can't find it anywhere except in that ticket view and the board itself.

@Moses Thomas I tried deleting and re-adding the column. There is only one status associated with the column - In Progress. I do not have a Start Progress Status.
Yet, it still shows up on my board. Any other tips?
