A user cannot move tickets through the workflow in one project but can in other projects

Kerry.Seaton March 17, 2023

I have 2 people in my team who are not able to move tickets through the workflow in a new project I have created, but they can in an existing project.  The roles are the same in both projects.  There are other people in the project with the same role and they are not having any issues.  I'm a bit confused!

Any ideas would be really appreciated, thanks!

Maybe take a look at the permission schema - are they different in this project? Or maybe you have a workflow condition?

Thanks for the reply!  I've had a look and they are the same.  The role in question is the developer role and both projects have that role under "Move issues".  I haven't set up any conditions so I really am at a loss.

I wondered whether to delete the users from Jira and recreate them?

Then just ask Jira what's going on. Go on the permission schema on the project where your user can't perform the action, at the top you will have an option called "Permission Helper" click that, input your user name and select the action he can't do, in your case, "move issues" and jira will tell you whats the problem.
