Hi all!
Is it possible without a third-party app to somehow set up a way to add new components to a specific project for users who do not have a project admin, trusted user, or site admin role?
I do not see a project permission for that nor an automation action to trigger to add/edit the component itself.
Thanks in advance for all comments :)
No, and trust me you don't want users adding components.
Maybe I wasn't too specific on the user part, by user I meant Jira users with access to one project so in this case 2 of our employees.
We are using components as a way to group work done per customer in next-gen project, so it's not shared through all project in Jira and I would like them to be able to add new component when we have a new customer.
Do you still think this is not a good idea? If so please tell why.

If it's limited to 2 users they can probably be trusted, however that doesn't change the ability of users to update components. The work around would be to make them project admins.

Yeah, I'm aware of that possibility but tbh I was hoping that maybe there is some way by automation with maybe JQL query or advanced JSON but this part is kinda new to me, and not quite sure how to approach it.
I could do some kind of script or web app to use Jira API to add new value to components, but this seems to be a bit overkill.
Shame that Jira does not provide simple permission for that.
Well.. thank you for your comment and have a great day :)
