Hello,
in order to get control of what users have access to Jira we have created specific group in AD (called Jira_AD).
We would like to know how to just synch to jira the members of Jira_AD group.
I'm using Jira 7.5.1
Thank you all.
There is a sample LDAP filter for AD at the bottom of this page which fits the use case you described:
How to write LDAP search filters
I look forward to any follow-up questions.

Hi Joesp,
When setuping Jira's directory, you can define a lot of properties including filtering DN (Distinguished Names) which will allow you to filter your Active Directory. Based on your AD structure, the query may vary a lot so it seems tricky to help you further, most of the time an Organization Unit (OU) is used in AD to hold users. You might get in touch with your AD admins to get further details on how Active Directory and LDAP are queryable!
Hope this helps!
Cheers
