Add JIRA attachments to post function email (HTML)

I currently have a custom email being sent via the JMWE plugin (via a workflow post function) but I want to have the jira issues attachments added to the email too (either as an attachment at the top or maybe even embedded into the body of the HTML email).

Alternatively I also have the Scriptrunner plugin which has this ability but I'm unsure how to enable the content of the body to render html code and to call jira issue fields

Unfortunately, you can't do that, as Jira doesn't currently support adding attachments to notification emails (for security reasons mostly). You can only include links to the attachments.

It's not a notification, it's a custom email as a post function. 

I can do it using the scriptrunner post function but I already have my html email created in JMWE and was hoping to just add something small to include attachments on the email.

JMWE actually uses Jira's notification system to send the emails. But you're right, on Jira Server, unlike on Jira Cloud, this could be extended to include attachments. I didn't realize you could actually do it with ScriptRunner. 

We have JMWE-789 for that requirement, but I can't commit to a date for it.

Thanks for the reply. I guess if I'm able to get scriptrunner to render html then I could use that option instead
