Add an issue to an epic as an epic issue by number

I am going back and cleaning up Epics.  We have several projects to manage workflow but I want to use a universal set of epics. 

So currently I have my epics set up and if I try to add say story-1234 to Epic A as an epic issue, I can't that I can see.  I see of course how to create new stories and to link other stories to the epic, but this is not the same as associating it with the epic via the epic link. 

Am I missing something or is this not possible and needs to be suggested as a feature enhancement?

Hi Regan,

You are probably using the New Jira Issue View. If you switch to the Old Jira Issue View, you might be able to do it directly from the Epic itself.

Otherwise, you can always create via the other route you mentioned.

Thank you for the response.  Yeah I was hoping i could just enter the numbers from the epic side vs. having to go into each of the previous stories created and add the individual epic.

You should be able to do that using the Old view.
