We are in the process of integrating Docusign with JIRA and need to add the integration user account as "Project Administrator" to all existing projects in our instance.
We do know how to add the account to all future projects automatically but existing projects are posing a problem. Anyone have an idea how best to do that apart from having to manually do that by going into all projects individually? We have close to 200 projects.
Thanks in advance!
If this user is going to always be an admin of every project going forward, you can add the user directly to the permission scheme with the permissions needed.
This is not an ideal solution for users that may come and go as you'd need to maintain multiple permission schemes, but this could work for this situation.
Kian,
Thank you for reaching out!
Well, that is indeed possible. Unfortunately, we have individual permission schemes for each project as well. So basically it would mean the same in terms of manual effort.
I understand there might not be a painless way to add them directly to the "Project Administrator" role and have it reflect on existing projects too. That's what I did...added the user as a default member of the "Project Administrator" role but I noticed it doesn't affect existing projects but any projects created post the change does include the user as admin.

Shoot. I know that there is a plugin that can be used as detailed here.

Kian,
Thanks for that. How far we would go to get a plugin installed for this work, is questionable but appreciate the help! :)

Yeah, it sounds like no matter what it may end up being a pain. I guess I would also encourage you to think about sharing project schemes across projects. 200 sounds like a lot to maintain!

I agree! we have started doing that. And to possibly bring back the existing ones too to a single one if possible. It is a lot of convincing project admins here and there but it is a work in progress.

Sorry, I don't mean to backseat administrate your instance! God luck!
