I am looking to add an Initiative Type above Epics in my Team Managed project
I cannot seem to do it - I can use the Initiative and Themes for Company managed projects but not Team managed ones
Can anyone provide any guidance if they have run into this?
Are you using a Standard or Premium subscription for Jira Cloud?
When you say you could do it in your Company Managed project, how exactly did you do that? Are you using a Roadmaps feature to extend the hierarchy?
If you have a Jira Premium subscription you should be able to use the Advanced Roadmaps feature to extend the hierarchy of issues in your Team Managed project. I don't have access to a Premium subscription, so I can confirm that directly.

You cannot incorporate additional levels above Epics directly in the Team Managed projects. Instead you have to create those higher level issues in Company Managed projects. Then through a Plan you can make the Epic in the TM project a child of the higher level issue that exists in a CM project.
