Adding an assignee to a Jira Product Discovery "Idea" automatically unassigns after refresh

Using the new Jira Product Discovery product from Jira, I've added myself (Default Project Lead/Admin) as the assignee to multiple ideas, and even after a refresh, my name is still attached to those Ideas.

However, adding other members in my Jira Cloud instance (other PM's) as assignees to Ideas results in their names being removed after I refresh the page.

What do I need to do in order to get these assignees to stick? Do I need to add them as creators/contributors?

In the Access section of the Project settings page, it says that "All creators on the site" and "All contributors on the site" have permission.

Additionally, when I go to add an assignee to an Idea, I get the following message even though I have no filters applied to my project/view.
