Adding pre-populated text and input text to a story

Hi community,

Is it possible to insert pre-populated text into a story IssueType description that requires a user to be prompted for inputs?

Something like this: As a <role> I would like to <requirement> so that I can <reason>

The point is so that the story content is always written in the same format, with the bold text as static text that cannot be edited, and the standard text (prompts) are the spaces for the story writer to insert text into.

Try as I may to instill this into the guys writing the stories and tasks, it is seldom done, so I'm looking for a way to prompt them to adhere to a standard.

Hi @Kevin Dickson out of the box Jira won't do this.  Scriptrunner behaviours will do this, I do it all the time for the exact thing you are asking for as well as many other screen and workflow automations.

Thanks Craig, I'm trying desperately to get the company to purchase Scriptrunner for a heap of other things too, so maybe this will add to the decider.
