Adding status to workflow ends up on many additional workflow

Rishi Srinivasan June 3, 2018

Hi everyone,

I added a status to a workflow within 1 project. Somehow, this resulted in this particular status being added to many other additional workflows for no particular reason. I cannot find any reason with Atlassian documentation for why this should happen. Anyhow has any ideas on what happened and how to undo this

Hello,

One workflow can be connected to different workflow schemes and one workflow scheme can be connected to many projects. Have a look to which workflow schemes your workflow is connected and then you can find all projects, which will be changed, if your workflow changes.

Hi Alexey,

I double checked that and it wasnt the workflow scheme. Turns out this workflow scheme was only being used for this project. The problem was this status was actually shared between many projects. So while I thought I was adding a status, what I actually did was place an existing status within my workflow and renamed it. This resulted in it being renamed everywhere.

Thanks for your reply though!
