Adding the user to a project

I want to include a user in a service project with API. For this, is it enough to give a role to the user?

You can add users just by giving them a role by API. But you have to customize API you are using.

I actually have a project managed by the team. But the API document seemed a bit complicated. I just wasn't sure that when I add a role to an existing user, it will be added project. Thank you.
