We are using a new "next-gen project" for our Kanban board. We have a rather typical workflow of: Dev Ready > In Dev > Test Ready > In Test > Done
As we complete stories they move to Done, then are picked up and released. Our Done queue is growing quickly in length and I would like items after release to be off the board, out of the Done column and off the board completely.
How do I do that in a next-gen project? Thanks.
Hello,
In the next-gen projects issues from the last column in the board will be automatically removed from your board after 14 days..
Works for me! Nice to know that. Wish we had a manual way to set status or expiration, but that will do for now. Guess another suggestion for Atlanssian. Be nice to have a "released" or "closed" status so we can remove upon release of feature. Thank you for the quick response.

I'd like to know that as well. In fact we would like to configure to leave it in the Done Column!

As long as Done isn't the right-most column you should be able to create a dummy column to the right of it and done tickets will stay.

@Thomas Serio I have my right most column as 'work Complete'
Is this ok or should it be one more column to the right (any name) as Jira will drop tickets from the right most column after 14 days?

You'll need a dummy column to the right of whatever you want to count as "Done" and then not place any tickets there that you want to keep on the board.

Understood. Thanks for the reply. Really appreciate it!!!
All these work-arounds just for the ease of use of next-gen projects is ok, but makes our board look comical!
Have a great day.

Is it possible to refer back to the issues which were already removed from the board after 14 days?

We noticed a ton of our tasks in the rightmost column were not rolling off, so in case anyone else has that issue I think I fixed ours by dragging the tickets back to the left one column and then re-dragging them to done (our rightmost column). Once I did that the little green checkmark that says they're "done" appeared on the card. Hopefully this will mean they'll start rolling off in 14 days.

@Thomas Serio Did this work-around work for you?

Yes. The tasks I moved left and back again are no longer showing up.

We are using subtasks, and while all subtasks end up in the "Done" column, there seems to be no way to have the parent story appear only under the "Done" column as well. This is really cluttering up our board and I definitely don't want 14 days of completed stories mixed up with our "To Do" work on the left. Can I manually remove a story from the board somehow?

If you're seeing subtasks on your board you are grouping by subtask. Change that to group by anything else and you'll see the parent task on the board again -- you should be able to drag it to done at that point. You can also directly change the status of the parent task by clicking on it and then clicking the status dropdown.
