I'm not the most skilled JQL writer so please be kind.
I would like to receive an email alert when a particular value is added to the Component field of an issue. I have a JQL filter that looks for 1) the existence of this value and 2) an update in the last x minutes. Without knowing how to limit the JQL to look for updates only in the Component field, I'm getting alerted every time the issue is updated. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
Hi @Des_Kelly - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You can use the free tool Automation For Jira to send you an email anytime an issue is updated with a particular Component value. See this for more information and go ahead and try to create your rule. If you run into problems, just post back here for more help.

For more on using Automation For Jira see these help pages.
