All issues view - add/remove columns

Lenka Burianova February 22, 2022

Hi, I am trying to add/remove columns to/from my All issue view.

I know that I can do it via button Go advanced search but then I am loosing the visually nice view (with user photos atc.) and also the possibility to e.g. change the status by clicking on it (without opening the issue).

Is there any way to add columns in that nice default view?

Many thanks
Lenka

Hi @Lenka Burianova

Unfortunately, that view is not customizable yet. I imagine it will be eventually.

I would suggest creating filters via the advanced search view. That way you can have multiple views with columns that are pertinent to each and those can be accessible with a single click if you save links to them in the project shortcuts.

I know it's not as aesthetically pleasing but the data is the most important thing.

Thanks for your answer, Josh.

I agree that the data is the most important thing, but it is evenly important to be able to read the data and that is where the visual of the view can be very helpful for some people :)

Hi @Lenka Burianova

just to add to Josh' answer, if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to try out JXL for Jira. It's a full-fledged list/spreadsheet view for your issues that allows adding, removing, and ordering all issue fields just as you need them.

JXL integrates into your project sidebar (as "Sheets"), so it could be a good alternative to the project list view.

Here's how it looks in action:

(It's worth noting that JXL can do much more than that - e.g., it supports inline issue editing and creation, issue hierarchies and grouping, and much more - see https://jxl.app for more info. Disclaimer: I work on JXL :))

Hope this helps,

Hannes
