Hi everyone,

Is it possible if we can create a JIRA account without 2FA to display the JIRA dashboards with 3rd cloud service (ScreenCloud)?

If yes, can we grant only view dashboards permission for this account?

Thanks.

Hi Duy,

Disabling two factor authentication is possible, but there is a big caveat you need to be aware of before trying this.  Please see Manage two-step verification for your Atlassian account.  It explains the steps to set this up but also mentions:

Be aware that if your organization admin has required you to have two-step verification enabled, and you disable it on your account, you won't even be able to log in to enable it again. See enforced two-step verification for more information.

In which case, then only your organization admin would have to move your account to a policy that does not require a two-step verification.

As for dashboard only permission, this is not a granular level of permissions that Jira provides.  In order for Jira to have an account that can view these dashboards and the data within them, that account has to at least have browse project permission to all the projects where these issues exist.  While it does not need to have edit permissions or alike, this is one way that you could begin to create an account that could be in a read-only sort of state.  If you are unfamiliar with setting project permissions please review Manage project permissions.  The account would have to be in a specific role that only has browse permissions across the various permission schemes in Jira.
