Analyze inbuilt time tracking in Jira without apps/addons/plugins, possible?

Remya Ramakrishnan March 3, 2023

Hello Community members,

I am wondering if you can help me confirm my understanding, and throw some light on my questions:

  • Jira instance using: Standard
  • Time tracking is enabled and default time tracking in hours

Tried using two dimensional filter gadget in Jira Dashboard, but I fail to see 'Time tracking' option on either X or Y axis drop down. Any suggestions on how to analyze time tracking without any extra apps/add on?

Any guidance is highly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi @Remya Ramakrishnan

Each project has inbuilt time tracking report which can be use. I agree the in built reports are basic.

You can always dump information to an Excel sheet/CSV for advanced reporting or use any other external reporting app. This is what lot of people do.

I hope it helps,

Ravi

@Remya Ramakrishnan - hi Remya!

Navigate to your Jira project, then go to the "Reports" section.

In it, there are at least two reports that consider time logging data:

  • Time Tracking Report
  • User Workload Report
