HI!

Can you please tell me when uploading files is there a virus check?

Or should I enable this check myself with any antivirus?

Thank you!

Hi @Анастасия ,

there's an open request about that https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-73340

As said by Atlassian Team in this thread (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Virus-Detection-Functionality-in-JIRA-Cloud/qaq-p/764970)

I'm afraid Jira cloud does not have virus detection functionality.

We do have internal virus protection and it will stop the rendering of previews of affected files.

You would still require end users to have local virus protection if they download affected attachments.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

You would want to check files outside of Jira. If you want to know more about Atlassian security initiatives please see this site - https://www.atlassian.com/trust

Are you still looking for a solution to scan attachments for malware? We've recently launched attachmentAV for Jira.

attachmentAV for Jira offers real-time malware scanning of uploaded attachments using Sophos’ advanced antivirus engine. It features customizable actions like commenting on issues or deleting infected files. The app also provides the option to self-host the malware scan API. This solution enhances Jira security with robust malware detection, automated threat mitigation, and simple implementation, requiring minimal maintenance.
