Hello Jira Community,
I have a question for assigning a ticket. Previously it was possible to assign a ticket via an extra button and write a comment. This is missing in the new view. Is it possible to turn this button or function back on?
Hi John,
thank you for your answer. I mean the function as seen in this screenshot.
Hi Torsten - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The button was probably just a looping transition back to the same status. Then the transition would have post functions to assign the issue and add a comment. If you have a screenshot of the button in the old view that you can share, that would be great.
Otherwise, you should be able to still do the same thing in the new view, it will just be shown in the list of transitions under the status dropdown and not as a button.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Yes, that is the Old Jira Issue that uses buttons. Can you look at the same issue in the New Jira Issue view and see if there is an Assign option in the Status dropdown?
This is really just a transition that is calling a transition screen in the process. But someone in your organization has added that to customize the workflow - it is not out of the box.

Unfortunately, the field is is no longer exists. Not even under any dropdown. It was very practical for us to assign and write a comment at the same time. The field used to be automatically in the ticket. As I am the organiser, I know that it was not added separately.

Well, it's not a field - there is never a button for a field. The button is always connected to a transition.
But bottom line, if you want this, just add it to the transition going to the status where you want the transition screen to show. You can search the list of screens to see if you can find the existing one. Or create a new one.

Hi John,
I hope this ticket will be implemented. Then the problem will be solved.
