Associating a BUG Issue Type to a separate Field Configuration along with the existing one .

Sindhu Y December 26, 2023

I want to associate BUG issue type to a different Field Configuration other than the existing field config in the same project.

Can anyone please help me on this ?

Concluding question : I need to use 2 different Field Configurations for different issue types separately in the same project.

Hello @Sindhu Y

To do that you need to do two things:

1. Create the second Field Configuration.

2. Modify the Fields Configuration Scheme associated with the project to include the new Field Configuration, associating that configuration with the specified issue type.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/what-are-issue-field-configuration-schemes/

Note that this set of instructions applies only to Company Managed projects. You need to confirm that the project with which you are working is a Company Managed project.  The project type can be seen on the View all projects page found under the Projects menu.

Hi @Trudy Claspill  Thank You for this detailed information but as I can see the project in which I am trying to carry out all these is a " Service Management" Type Project.

So Can I please get any suggestions on this?

There is another location you can find that information. When viewing the project, at the bottom of the navigation panel on the left will be a statement telling you that the project is either team-managed or company-managed.
