Automate issue type chage upon transition completer

Hello,

I would be very grateful if someone could suggest me how to automate issue type change when a transition happens. More specifically, when an issue of type 1 is moved from state A to State B, then the issue type is automatically re-assing to type 2.

Hi @DDL 

You can do this using the existing JIRA cloud features of automation rules, without the need to buy an add-on.  For example:

• Trigger: issue transitions (you can specify the status values, from/to)
• Condition: matches the issue type you are interested in updating
• Action: edit the issue type to the new value

Is there a way to do this with ScriptRunner in Jira Data Center?  I do not want to buy yet another add-in.  Need to be able to change issue type upon a transition.  Thanks!

Hi @DDL ,

You can achieve that using Bobswift's Update on Transition app. Just add a post function on your desired transition, select Update issues (Bob Swift) post function and select the issue type from the detailed field section the save the settings. 

You can also set your other fields based on your requirement.

As per the configurations saved, once the transition is done it will update the issue type.
