We are using the Automated Release Notes plugin in our Cloud instance and are having an error pushing to confluence. We are getting this error:

Failed to Send
Add to Internal Confluence :  JIRA admin has not saved credentials required to connect to Confluence. action will fail until credentials are configured

Can anyone help on this issue?

@JD Lobue in order to use the Confluence integration with ARN, your Jira admin needs to provide credentials/token on the ARN setting page. Please follow this documentation - https://amoeboids.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ARN/pages/305102861/

Thank you. As an admin, can I use my credentials and have others post? I'm having issues knowing where to place the URL. Can I use the space or does it have to be very specific? What if I want to post to multiple locations? Do I have to use multiple tokens - one for each space?

@JD Lobue we'll recommend playing around with the app a little bit & all your questions would be answered immediately. If you need any help, feel free to book a discussion with our team.

  • Credentials are at the instance level, once added anyone who has access to ARN on that instance will be using the same.
  • Space on which the release notes page is created, is defined within a Confluence action. As long as the user whose crendentials/token is used has write access to required spaces, ARN can write to any number of spaces.
  • If you are trying to post to two different confluence instances - we don't support that.

@Anand Inamdar_Amoeboids Hope here is the best place to post our issue. From Feb 5th our release note generated by this plugin was not able to working here is the error message in logs,

com.atlassian.confluence.api.service.exceptions.BadRequestException: Error parsing xhtml: Unexpected character '-' (code 45) (expected a name start character) at [row, col {unknown-source}]: [505,163]

this happens while we post it in confluence automatically whenever we hit the release button in versions page. Please get back if you need more info and let us know if you have any solution. Thanks in advance please do the needful.
