Hi there
As part of automation on my Jira Board. I am creating a story when a task is moved to 'Done' Status.
What automation rules do i need to create to ensure that a link is created to the task that created the story?
Hi Chris - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
How are you creating the new Story - through an Automation rule? If so can you share the rule?
Basically, you want to add a Branch to the end of the rule for Current Issue and then an action for Link Issue and choose Trigger issue. But it kind of depends on how your rule is set up.
Hi John.
The story is being created via automation. Screenshot of the rules are below
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Would you add this to the rule above? Or create a new rule? E.g when are issue is created by automation, add the link?

I have tried this, also tried it with the new story.
Any other thoughts?

See above. The link does not appear in the new story. I also dont get any failure reports so not sure why this is happening

Try adding the Branch for Most recently created issue before the last step. Make sure the last step is under the branch.
