It looks like Jira used to allow you to add checklist templates to cards as a post-function but no longer gives this option. This feature would be EXTREMELY useful for my company, so I'm hoping someone out there knows a workaround to make it happen?
I've figured out how to automatically append checklists based on the issue type, but this isn't a viable option for the scope of my team's work. I envision the post-function option being the best so that whenever a specific type of card is sent to a specific board for a specific reason, it comes with the correct checklist right there and ready to go.
Any suggestions?
Hello @michelle_ski,
Jira does not offer a checklist by default, so you must be using some third-party app. Please let us know which one (or share a screenshot of the checklist), and the corresponding vendor will help.
Cheers,
Jack
Hi @Jack Hunter _HeroCoders_. Attached is a screenshot of what I'm using. The checklists, boards, and everything I'm using are within the Jira Software. I can choose "Set Default" for any of these checklists, but then I'm limited to choosing where the checklist applies based on issue type. This causes problems for my team because there are few enough issue types that we have to recycle them frequently, so when I make a checklist the default, it makes sense some of the time but is not the checklist we need at other times.
For our purposes, appending checklists as a post-function would be much more effective. Is there a way?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

HI @michelle_ski,
So, it looks like you use Issue Checklist Free or Issue Checklist Pro delivered by my team.
You can set the checklist in post-function in both of these apps.
However, you cannot use the template name but instead, you need to copy-paste the entire checklist into the post-function.
The steps are as follows:
* add post-function that modifies Checklist Text custom field
* copy the checklist and paste it on the post-function details page (modify Checklist Text custom field)
Let us know if that helps.
Cheers,
Jack
