What I'd like to do is create a task in JIRA when a new sprint is created (or better yet, when a sprint is started). This task would be general in nature but ideally would have the sprint name in the title. E.g.:
Integration testing for Sprint 52
Any ideas?
a task in Jira is in itself an issue type unless you are referring to task as a general term.
this is not possible out of the box. you may look at atlassian marketplace to see if a JIRA app can fulfill this.
Yes I mean "task" in a very general sense. To be a little clearer, I'd like to create a new JIRA Issue every time a sprint is started, and I want this Issue to be added automatically to the sprint...
The only solution that comes to mind is for me to create an Issue in a project, then ask the developers to clone that issue just before they start the sprint. While this will work, I believe that if this is a manual task then it won't be done consistently.
