Automatically fill the users names in the field from the attachment

Hi everyone, 

Can I open an issue, attach a file with the users names to it and when I create it I need the users names to be filled in the according field. This is needed to be able to automatically open sub-tasks for each of the user after creating the issue. 

If this is possible please could you tell me how to do it or if there is another way to have this result please tell me that too.

Hi @Lusine -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I am using Jira Cloud, not Server version, so please verify the following suggestions will work for your instance.  Your Jira Admin can help.

• CSV Import
  • Have you considered importing the issues, using a CSV file?  The file would need to be updated so the subtasks are added to the correct parent issue.  https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/importing-data-from-csv-938847533.html
• Automation rule
  • For Jira Cloud, it is possible to read the contents of an attachment with an Automation for Jira rule, using the REST API functions, and then using those contents to create other issues.  That would eliminate the need of creating / modifying a CSV file, although it is a bit complicated.  Definitely check with your Jira Admin before trying this approach.
