I'd like to set an automation rule to do something but then stop other rules from triggering. Is there anyway to do this?
The scenario I've got is two rules:
When #1 fires I'd like to prevent #2 from triggering. #2 is only intended to work when users are adding comments, not from the rule.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks for replies Bill and John,
In the end I realized that actually I couldn't get 1. to work so I resorted to adding a new field to hold the description, rather than adding as a comment
Hi Colin,
Can you share screenshots of the two rules? I am thinking you can probably do it with adding some Conditions to the second rule.
Do you have the second rule box unchecked under Rule details to Allow rule trigger?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Yes, and... the key is the triggers.
If I understand the question, when #1 rule triggers, you want to prevent #2 rule from triggering, correct?
The events used to trigger the rules are what you want consider. Is there something in common which could trigger both? If so, how can you make that unique enough to prevent the firing.
Best regards,
Bill
