Hello,
We are migrating from one cloud site to another in Jira, and want to export all our automations using the export function in Atlassian. However the file is 10MB, which means in the new site I cannot import because this is more than 5MB. Atlassian suggests to split the documents, which I have, but when I try and upload it, it just simply refuses to work. I have tried to replicate from a single automation export with the same {[ but nothing works. I also cannot find any guidance on this as well.
Thanks,
I'd assume that when splitting the file, you are uploading those separately. As I understand it, you are correct in your method of splitting the documents, but I'd also suggest splitting them up further and uploading them separately.
Also to note, if you are doing a cloud-to-cloud automation export, you may need to double check that the custom fields, issue types, and statuses are the same. If not, this may also be causing you some issues.
Please let me know if any of the above helps! I hope it does.
Kind Regards,
Ashley Hudson
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your response.
But I'm looking for some guidance in HOW to split the files, because the system is not clear on how to do it.
I have used my prior knowledge of JSON and it is simply not accepting it. I just keep getting errors when trying to push the files to be uploaded.
If you have advise or some example on how to split the files that is what I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Renato

If you have any experience with the command line curL (https://curl.se/), then use this tool to pull the JSON data down. There is a really useful article that I have been using in the past to export the automation rules with JSON:
Scroll to the users "Andras M_" part as it gives you good information on the step by step process to work with the JSON data!
I hope this helps clears things up!
Kind Regards,
Ashley Hudson
