I created a new Scrum board based on a filter that looks at several product based projects and filters by summary content for specific request IDs.

Mockup: (project IN(X,Y,Z) and (summary ~"123" OR summary ~ "456")

The Epics that respect the query results show up as epics on the board, but their associated stories don't show up as a backlog, so I can't manage my scrum.

Does this mean that the stories need to respect the search query as well in order to appear on the board?

Hi Francis,

yes, the board is only showing issues that are covered by the filter, regardless of the issue type.

I modified the query to only look for projects and the stories appeared, like you said.

I lost the filtering on the Epics though, meaning that all the epics for all the projects appear. My objective was to filter out the Epics and their children that are under my responsibility, since the projects also contain other epics/stories that don't concern me. I created quick filters within the board to look for a custom field that contains the ID, which works for the Epic children, but I still get presented with the full list of Epics. Any idea how I could drill down my view to that level?

Do you have the Scriptrunner app? If so, you can query like that:

issueFunction in issuesInEpics("summary ~'123' OR summary ~ '456'") or (summary ~ "123" or summary ~ "456")
