I have around 55 Sprints in my Jira Board, but the latest sprint always appears at the top of the backlog and then Sprint 1 - 54. How do i order all the prints in my backlog so i only see current sprints, future sprints and the backlog? If it's not possible to remove any sprints from the list, how to I force order them, oldest to newest in the backlog?
Hi @Andy Lewins ,
As far as I know there is no workaround to change order of sprints in the backlog View. By default backlog will be at bottom and sprints will ordered such a way that sprint started earlier will be at top and follows.
Thanks for the reply. However, the current sprint is at the top with then Sprint 1+ underneath. Why is the current sprint at the top and not Sprint 1? The dates are ascending and so it's surprising that the current sprint is at the top.

I just noticed the same issue. Had active Sprint A at top of backlog, started Sprint B, and then Sprint B moved to the top of the backlog atop Sprint A, even though both the start and end dates of Sprint B are later than those of Sprint A.
I believe this is just how Jira works, as you cannot reorder an active sprint in the Backlog view.
The code should be updated to move newly activated sprints above inactive sprints, but either to the bottom of active sprints (logical) or else sorted among other active sprints by their sprint start date (increasing; that is, sprints with an earlier start date appear nearer to the top than those of a later relative start date).
Nice to have would allow a user to reorder active sprints manually (among other active sprints in the same board).
