We've seen a few times apps causing issues to the Jira instance after performing an update to the latest version.
The general process we follow is to update the apps first in a test environment and then to production.
So, I was wondering what do you usually like to test after installing/updating apps? Do you have a process around this?
Any general advice or more specific test cases will be highly appreciated.
That is correct approach - to first do it on a test environment.
Post upgrade checks depends on the apps but there few things like checking the release notes of those apps and go through the functionality of the apps is what I do. Some apps always work but there are some apps where I am a bit more careful like ScriptRunner scripts that might break due to changes in Jira Java API.
