Blocked by 'separation of duties condition' bug

Hi all,

my team is facing  "Separation of Duties condition does not work for users whose username have uppercases" in JIRA cloud. As the workaround, the suggestion is to change the user name to lower case...

Unfortunately, the ability to update usernames has been removed. https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2018/06/say-goodbye-to-usernames-in-atlassian-cloud

Any idea what we could do now?

Since you can not edit usernames in JIRA Cloud anymore directly from JIRA UI, I would like to ask you to raise a request with our standard support so they can properly check it:
