Hello,
Background : As an experiment, we used JIRA as a ticket based tool. CR/Defect/task and their children sub tasks. Now, we want to track the work, first at parent issue level and then at children sub-tasks level.
We decided, we will track them using sprints. But, we soon, realized that JIRA does now allow sub-tasks to be planned in sprints. We have already created 2000s of sub-tasks now.
We then, thought, let us bulk convert these subtasks into stories so that JIRA allow us to plan them for sprints.
Caution : While we bulk convert subtasks to stories, we do not want to miss the link to their parent stories.
so, I need to convert more than 2000 sub-tasks to stories. These sub-tasks obviously have their parent Stories at the moment. I know, it is illogical to expect JIRA to retain its parent even after moving the sub-tasks to stories, but, I need to retain the relation between these subtasks ( to be moved to stories) and their parent stories.
Is there any way that I can bulk convert the subtasks without losing the link to their parent stories ( I mean, to convert the Parent stories as an 'Implements' link?)
Unfortunately not yet.
please let me know if there is any work around that minimizes the Manual effort.
