Ca we go with new version with evolution licence?

HI ,

My licence is going to end on 11-07-2020. We are planing to move to jira cloud so we don't want renew my jira server licence.
1) my jira version is 6.2.4, so need to upgrade jira ..suggestion for version to upgrade.
2) After expire of my licence ,can we upgrade jira server to new version?

3) Can we use evaluation licence after commercial licence expire and if evalution is working then we go for upgrade with evaluation licence?

Hi @Venkata Raghavendra Veerla ,

  1. If you want to migrate to Cloud you should upgrade your Jira instance to the latest version.
  2. You need a valid license to upgrade to a new version  (which can also be an evaluation license)
  3. Yes, you should be able to use a evaluation license during the migration.

Thanks much for response..

1)Can we go for first: 7.0 upgrade directly from 6.2.4?

2)Planing to go with jira clod migration assistance or please guide for refence?

3)we are using JSU is free when my jira is installed, if we upgrade need JSU Paid licence?

  1. No you first have to upgrade to 7.0.11 (See determining your upgrade path)
  2. File a support ticket here > Migration support. Atlassian will guide and help you. They have a dedicated team for this.
  3. For JSU you need a license from 7.1+, but if you migrate to Cloud and want to use JSU you also need a license. During the migration, you can use a trial license (for both server and cloud). You can ask JSU support here
