Hi,
we are using Jira Cloud for Slack https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracorecloud/jira-cloud-for-slack-950819031.html in our projects, but I'm missing some crucial notifications.
Our aim is to reduce notifications by mail and rather have them posted in slack channels which is basically working very well. However we would need at least the following notification triggers so we can really make sure that everyone stays up to date with an issue:
- Description added/edited
- Comment added/edited
- Sprint value added/edited
- Priority added/edited
Without those one would have to check email and slack for updates on issues.
I didn't find the above notifications triggers to be available. Did I miss something? If this is not featured in Jira Cloud for Slack is there maybe another App that has more options available?
Thanks for your replies!
Hi Stefan! Thanks for your message. I'm a PM in the team that developed Jira Cloud for Slack.
Of the notification triggers that you've listed, I'm afraid the only one that the app currently supports is "comment added."
That said, we're working on updates to the app at the moment, so I'm really interested to understand more about your requirements. Specifically:
Thanks in advance!
Hi Caroline,
you are right that a general "issue updated" notification would create too much noise and would require to check to whole issue for what actually changed every time.
In our case we would set up notifications individually for users. So I'd like to get a DM on the above events for singe issues (similar to emails when watching an issue) or every issue in a project.
Most important would be to have the above triggers and to be able to see what actually changed at a glance in the slack message, so I can decide if I need to take action.

Awesome, thanks for clarifying your use case Stefan. I can see how those specific triggers would be useful.

I found this thread and have a similar issue. Could you please tell me if this is already possible, and if so where I can find a page with a guide?
thank you in advance
