Can I change the template of a JIRA project after it is created?  Or need delete/start over?

How do you do this?

You can change the template.

Go to the Project Configuration and then choose the Details tab. You will be able to change the template there:

Be aware that this only changes the project "type". 

The "template" is only used when you create a project, it's just telling Jira how to do the initial setup.  Changing the type will not re-configure the project.

Yes I am looking to change the template.  Currently default is set to SCRUM but I need to change to something else now.  This is not possible?

Scrum is a template within the "Software" type.  As I said, only the type will change.

You can not change the template once the project created. You need to delete it and recreate the project.
