Can I create multiple boards from a single project/backlog for Team managed projects

Boluwatife Adewole September 13, 2024

Hello All,

Is this possible for a team managed project?

I tried creating a new board then creating from exiting project, but my project is not listed, even though I can see other projects.

I then tried to filter but after doing that, the location is only showing company managed projects.

Hi Boluwatife,

Yes, you can do that! See this article - in it, I address the issue with the Location field. If the article is helpful, please give it a Like.

Hey @Boluwatife Adewole ,

We can only have one board in a team-managed project. Multiple boards can be created under company-managed projects so you will see only those in the list.

However, you can consider the below approach:

  1. Create a new board by selecting a company managed project. In the location drop-down, scroll down to the bottom and you can use your own profile to create the board.
  2. Once the board is created, edit its filter to remove the company-managed project and add the required team-managed project.
  3. Return to your board and adjust the status mapping in the Configure Board > Column section to include the statuses of your new team-managed project in the desired columns.

I hope this helps. Thanks!!

Hi @Karan Sachdev this helps, thank you.

How do I Extend this to the rest of my team?

Hey Boluwatife,

Please go to filter details > Edit permissions, and the required set of users are added as viewers/editors. If a user has visibility over the filter they will be able to access the board as well.

The users must also have the project permissions to view the issues.
