Can I create pages with templates under content or pages in the Pages tab?

I would like to select a Confluence template when creating a new page as a child page to a Confluence content or page that is tied to a page tab.
How can I achieve this?
I am having trouble creating a page by selecting the template on the right side of the screen and it is created at the same level as the content.

When creating the page, you will see a list of template options on the left side of the page.

I apologize for the delayed response.

You are creating the page within a Jira project, which is why the template options are not visible initially. The macros and other action items will appear only after you enter the page title. However, when you open the project pages section, you can see the template options displayed on the left side of the home screen.
