Can I remove the grouping by component (not selected in settings) in my Plans Timeline view?

I am viewing issues from multiple projects in Plans. In the view settings I have them grouped by assignee, but for some reason they are also grouped by Story or Sub-task. Any way I can remove that so issues and subtasks appear on the same list, sorted by due date as I want? Screenshot 2025-08-08 at 22.30.40.png

Hi @Elise Labonte-lemoyne and welcome,

I think that you are talking about hierarchy in plan view. You need to define one of existing hierarchy or, if you are on Premium/Enterprise subscription you can add one.

Btw, for my knowledge you can't group them by assignee.

Please take a look to the following article https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-custom-hierarchy-levels-in-advanced-roadmaps/

Keep in mind that it is a plan report perspective.

Hope this clarifies,

Fabio

This is in the timeline view for a Plan.

I do think I'm seeing the hierarchy as a grouping, but I actually don't want to see it. Mostly because in this view it is not necessary and adds clutter, but also because it means that tickets are sorted by due date within a level of hierarchy, not overall. You can see in my picture it says story then sub-task. I can't change the hierarchy settings because those are set at the enterprise level for everyone.

I can actually group by assignee. The dark dot on the image is an assignee.
