Can I reset a Jira card's description based on a previous version in history?

Hello,

I found this article for Trello, and I'd like to know if something similar is possible in Jira Software (Premium). Is it possible to reset a card's description field to a historical version of that description?

Hi @Brianna Hook 

There is no built-in option in Jira cloud to reset the description. I can suggest Issue History for Jira add-on for this purpose. The app is developed by my team and has an option to revert the description. So, you can choose the version you would like to roll back.

Thank you, Yuliia, for your prompt response! Although I don't think our team is looking to purchase an add-on right now, it is certainly helpful for future reference, as we may decide we need that functionality!

Hello @Brianna Hook 

There is not an identical feature in the Jira REST API to get the change history for a single field.

There is an API endpoint for getting the entire change log for an issue.
