Can I save my preferred columns in scrum/kanban boards as default

Joe Madden August 10, 2020

Is there a way to edit board, add columns and make those changes the *new* default so that every time I create a kanban or scrum project the same columns appear. For example in Kanban board there are 3 columns, our standard 'default' would have 5 - how do I make it so I am not having to manually add those columns every time??

I saw a post about copying a board, but I am not really seeing how to do that either.

Please let me know what I am missing

Regards

Joe

Hello @Joe Madden ,

I don't think there is any way in jira that will allow you to create a template for your board and use it as a standard. Maybe some third party plugin can do, but I am not aware of any, you can check here - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=jira&query=jira%20boards

To copy a board

1. goto https://yoursite-here.net/jira/boards

2.  click ... (ellipisis) and choose copy from the dropdown

3. you should now see your copied board in your project.

Best,
Sachin.

Sachin - appreciate prompt response - this will fulfill my requirement - I am curious why the url ./jira/boards is not visible on menu/etc - I see projects/people etc but not that boards - I will remember it now - thank you very much
