Can I use the Jira API if I am on Data Center?

My company does not have a cloud instance of Jira, can I still use the API to run scripts etc. on Data Center?

Hello @Judah I'm not a developer as such but you certainly can use that in datacenter as well. There might be minor differences in some of them but the overall are the same as far as I can tell

Thank you, I have been using ScriptRunner for Jira but looking for a more friendly development environment, something that will offer method suggestions etc...

I'm shooting from the hip every time I try to write a script.

Via API you could use your own developed service with the language you prefer and then interact with Jira via rest. Our team uses python in most cases.
