Can a select list custom field be linked to a release?

Is there a way to configure a select list custom field so that the values of that field depend on the release selected and on the project without using an add-on?

Hello,

You could do it with the Service Desk Automation, if you have Jira Service Desk. 

Otherwise it is not possible without an add-on.

Thanks for your usefull answer (I'm a collegue of Odile;).

The need is to manage 2 levels of releases (The release itself, and several sub releases). Do you confirm that there is no way to do this appart from an add-on. And if yes would you have a specific add-on to recommand?

I do not know of a way to do it out of the box.

There are a couple of add-on: Power Scripts, ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira and it is not a complete list.

But if you want to use the Power Scripts add-on and you are on Server, then you can find an example here:
