If I'm a user that is authorized to view a jira issue covered by issue level security, can I share that with another user who is not authorized to see it according to the issue level security settings? Or do I need to create an other issue security level which includes that user and change the issue level settings of the issue?
Thanks,
Jay
Hi Jay,
If the user does not have access to the issue via the issue level security, then sharing it will still not give the user access. The user must meet the criteria of the security level period - no matter how he/she gets the link to the issue.
Hi John,
Thanks. I kind of found a workaround to my problem, I think. Since my project is a servicedesk project, I made one the people who could see them in the security level the servicedesk customer - portal access. Then if myself as an agent with permissions to see the ticket add a SD customer as a requested participant then they could see it. The only risk I have is that then that newly added customer could then add another customer as a participant without my expressed permission.
