Can i add or change custom Data Fields in the Jira create Issue Inplace Editing Dialog?

Katleen Thiele May 2, 2018

I used the Create Jira issue in Confluence by highlighting text and my Question is:

Can I add Custom Fields to this inplace Editing Dialog?

What have i done to solve this Question:

1. I  have read this guide : https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-make-a-field-visible-in-the-create-jira-issue-dialogue-in-confluence-678560701.html

here is the Information that i must edit the Field Configuration in Jira to solve this requirement.

2. With this instruction I edit my Configuration in Jira:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/specifying-field-behavior-861253403.html#SpecifyingFieldBehavior-Makingafieldrequiredoroptional

Result of the Configuration:

- Create Jira issue by highlighting text has no changes and does not work anymore, that means i can not add Issues to Jira after the Field Configuration.

- Create Jira Issue by Edit Dialog (see screen) has my changes and I can add an Issue with my custom datafields.

If i cancel my configuration in Jira for the Field "Fälligkeitsdatum" i can use Create Jira issue by highlighting but without my custome DataFields.

Can anybody tell me how can i fix this?

Which changes did you do specifically?
If you want to make a field visible in the  Create Jira issue by highlighting you just need to make this field required. Is that what you did?

Hi Oman,

Yes, this is exactly what i did.

But I see in Your Screen that it must be work. I will try it again with a fresh Instance and write back.

Thank you for your answer.

I found the mistake:

it was a Browser Problem in my Firefox Developer Edition. In Chrome all works fine.

For my Firefox i have clear my Cache and it works too.

Thank you for your Time.
