He there,
We implemented an automated system to generate tasks on one of our jira boards through email. So far it has worked perfectly well, but only if the sender is one of our company issued email addresses already linked to a jira profile. I've noticed that the task always lists the sender as the reporter of the automatically generated tasks and figured the issue with the external email addresses might be that there is no profile to connect them to in order to generate the task?
I have however seen tasks being generated by (an) account(s) named "jira automations" and such, so I was wondering if maybe there is a way to create/enable a similar type of account that could generate the tasks even via external email addresses, so that our clients can use the system directly without the need of an employee to start the task generation process?
I'd be grateful for any hints/suggestions on the matter (:
Kind regards,
Janaina O.
