Hey guys,
I'm new to JIRA.
I'm working on a sandbox version of a marketing project management and am now converting their specified job criteria into "issues" on here.
For the smaller components of the indicated work they have to do, I want to create "sub-tasks". I have the needed permissions to add subtasks, but when I click on "More" option for the desired parent issue, there's no "create subtask" option.
What am I doing wrong?
Hello,
It means that no sub-task issue type is defined in the project issue type scheme. You should add a sub-task issue type to the project issue type scheme.
Okay,
When I try to add the sub-task issue type to the default issue type scheme, I know I have to associate it with my project so that the changes will actually take place. But when I press "Associate", my project doesn't show up. All I get is a message saying, "No projects available to be associated with scheme Test Issue Type Scheme.", which doesn't make sense because there is a project on file.

Could you do it another way. Go to your project. Open project settings -> issue types and try to change the current issue type scheme to the created by you issue type scheme.

This is where I'm at now. Would I just add the issue type manually? (Where it indicates " + Add issue type")
Or am I still missing something?

I see. It is an Agility project. You can not change the issue type scheme for this project. There are no sub-tasks for this project. You can read it here:

Right, I see now. So I guess I would have to use a different template if I want to use a custom issue type scheme? Like Scrum or Kanban?

That is right.
