Hi,
I have used jira server for years and now I am on Jira cloud: I cannot find the the parent/children link between issues anymore.
Is there a possibility to activate it again by buying a plug-in or is it gone for good?
Thank you.
Ok: found somewhere that it is considered old school and that epic/issue provides all the parenting you need: I guess that is why I have seen some structure where epic replaces the stories... Fine with me but how would I group all the epics together to have a real old school epic (= the project iteration I am working on) ?
HI Martine - what exactly are you trying to do? What are the issue types of the issues that have the relationship?
Hi John,
Thank you for answering me.
The devs have some stories that are really too big to fit 1 sprint, but they do not represent an epic (which we keep for one iteration of development project xyz): I would like to ''cut'' them into smaller pieces, like tasks, and have the smaller pieces in different subsequent sprints.
A Parent/Children relationship between big and small stories a would be fine but it seems that we don't have it in Jira Cloud. Was it replaced by another one? Is it possible to buy/rent a plug-in?

I would create the bigger one as a Story and then you can create Tasks linked to the Story and have the Tasks completed in various Sprints.

Thanks John,
This is what I would have done with a Parent / Children relationship: I will find another link, maybe will be implemented in and add the story to the sprint of last task.
Always useful to have another mind to help when you work alone.
